Enjoy Father's Day in Myrtle Beach05/17/2013
Mother’s Day has passed and now it is time to start thinking about ways to celebrate Dad. What could be better than a weekend getaway at Myrtle Beach? The June weather makes a weekend at the beach all too appealing and the area offers tons of opportunities for your family to celebrate Dad. Check out all of the great Father’s Day activities that you can spoil dad with this year:
Myrtle Beach Pelicans Game – Is your dad a sports fanatic? Well you are in luck! The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are hosting the Carolina Mudcats the weekend of June 13th-16th. The weekend will include a free post-game fireworks show on Thursday and Sunday in addition to several other promotions throughout the weekend. Learn more about this exciting local baseball team here.
Beach – You can’t forget about the beach! Spend a lazy day on the beach with the family or look into an area rental company for a more adventurous day. Jet ski and boat rental companies are easy to find and offer an alternative to the traditional day at the beach. Dad will love the warm, sunny weather and spending some quality time with the family.
Golf – The Grand Strand area is home to over 100 individual golf courses! Reward your dad with some much needed R&R time with a golf package at one of the local courses. With a wide variety of courses ranging from budget friendly to incredible exclusive, you are sure to find the perfect course that offers everything dad will love! Learn more about area golf packages and specials on our golf page.
Fishing Charter – If your dad dreams of being aboard one of the boats on Wicked Tuna then he will love going on a local fishing charter! Charters vary greatly on where they go, what fish you can expect to catch, and how much they cost, so a little advance research goes a long way. Charters are great for couples or for an afternoon father / son activity as well. And, what could be better than catching your own dinner?
Dinner – The Myrtle Beach area boasts an eclectic collection of restaurants. If you want to treat dad to a decadent dinner, make reservations at Aspen Grille or Sea Captain’s House. Both are area favorites amongst visitors and locals alike and offer only the freshest seafood and prime steaks. If dad is more of a BBQ kind of guy, head down to the BBQ House in Surfside Beach, a hidden gem that is consistently voted best BBQ in the area. If waterfront dining is what you are looking for, head south to Murrells Inlet and try one of the restaurants on the Marsh Walk where you can enjoy fantastic food with phenomenal Inlet views.
Enjoying a Day at Beach Colony – With the generous amenities offered at Beach Colony, dad won’t have to look far to find everything he needs. Enjoy a day at one of the many pool features and then grab a bite to eat at the oceanfront lounge. Dad can also enjoy games with the kids on the racquetball or shuffleboard court then wind down in the spacious sauna. See a full list of our generous amenities here.
