Fall Events in Myrtle Beach09/17/2013
The fall is a fantastic time to visit Myrtle Beach! The ideal weather is finally cool enough to really enjoy spending time at our outdoor attractions and the crowds have diminished so you won’t have to wait long for anything. Another great reason to visit the beach during the fall is all of the great off-season events that the area hosts. From art centered events to food festivals and everything in between, Myrtle Beach has it all. Pawley’s Island Festival of Music & Art – September 19th – October 13th
This annual festival hosts events for four consecutive weeks in the fall and celebrates every genre of art. Enjoy a variety of live art events, like Chalk Under The Oaks and Seaside Palette En Plein Air. You can also participate in a variety of wine and culinary gala events and attend several concerts. All of the events take place on different days, so be sure to check their Pawleys Music website for specific event information.
22nd Annual Greek Festival – September 26th – 29th
Opa! The Annual St. John’s Greek Festival is one of the area’s largest events – and for good reason. Thousands flock to this four day event to enjoy a variety of authentic Greek food and entertainment. Try everything from spanikopita and mousaka to roasted lamb and gyros and everything imaginable in between! Live music will be playing and there will be plenty for kids to do so bring the whole family along to this fun festival.
Brew at The Zoo – September 28th
Held at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, the annual Brew at The Zoo allows guests to sample more than 30 craft beers from all over the country. You will find everything from Lager to Stout varietals with the eclectic variety provided. In addition, enjoy an evening stroll through the lowcountry zoo and hear live tunes from Bullfrog, a popular local band. Tickets are only $40 and this event goes from 5:30pm-8:30pm.
Chilympics Chili Cook-Off – October 13th
Head south to Murrells Inlet for this delicious annual event. Held along the Marsh Walk and in the Wicked Tuna parking lot, the Chilympics Chili Cook Off will feature live music, games, a children’s play area, and – of course – tons of chili. Try samples and vote for your favorites in a variety of categories like most original, best theme use, hottest, and best overall. This event is from 12pm-6pm.
Island Fever Music Fest – October 19th
Visit La Belle Amie Vineyards in Little River for the Island Fever Music Fest. As you can imagine, wine and music are the focus of this event. Sample a variety of La Belle Amie varietals and stick around to hear live music on the lawn. You can bring chairs or blankets to relax and food from various local vendors will be available for purchase. This event is only $8 / person and takes place from 12pm-5pm.
30th Annual Taste of The Town – October 22nd
Culinary experts and neophytes alike are sure to enjoy the annual Taste of the Town celebration at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Guests can enjoy sampling items from over 50 local area restaurants who have all been hand selected to participate in this event. Try everything from the area’s best seafood to down home southern delights. You can purchase tickets at the door or in advance and plan to come by anytime between 4pm-10pm that day.
