Fourth of July in Myrtle Beach

July 4th is right around the corner and if you are lucky enough to be celebrating this all-American holiday in Myrtle Beach you won’t be disappointed by the array of local events happening during this extended weekend. From boat parades to colorful fireworks displays – we promise you will find plenty to keep you busy. Check out some of the exciting fourth of July events taking place near Beach Colony Resort and celebrate the fourth in style!

Fireworks

It wouldn’t be the 4th of July without fireworks and there are plenty of places along the Grand Strand that you can  enjoy a spectacular display. Head over to Second Avenue Pier at the south end of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk to see fireworks over the ocean or, if you are out and about on the town, check out the display at Barefoot Landing (10:15 pm) or Broadway at The Beach (10:00 pm).

Boat Parade

The annual Murrells Inlet Boat Parade will set sail at high tide on July 4th – 5:00 pm this year. Located just south of Myrtle Beach, this quaint seaside town knows how to celebrate the fourth in style. Grab a spot along the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, Belin Methodist Church, or along the Marsh Jetty and watch as local boats show off their finest red, white, and blue. There will also be a fireworks show at Veteran’s Pier at 9:00 pm.

4th Of July Festival

Are you looking for a one stop shop for family friendly fun and entertainment? Head down to Surfside Beach and take advantage of their 4th of July Festival! The fun kicks off at 6:00 pm on Ocean Boulevard with live entertainment, face painting, games, food vendors, and much more and wraps up around 10:00 pm that evening with fireworks over the Atlantic. This event is free to attend so pack up your crew and get there early!

Myrtle Beach Pelicans

If you want to kick off your 4th of July celebrations a little early, grab tickets to a Myrtle Beach Pelicans game. Located right across from Broadway at the Beach, this home team knows how to put on a show. They play a home series against the Winston-Salem Wildcats from July 1st to July 3rd and you won’t want to miss out on the action! Tuesday ($2sDay Brewsday) offers $2 craft beer, Wednesday (Wiener Wednesday) offers $1 hotdogs all night long, and Thursday will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show. It wouldn’t be a trip to the beach without a Myrtle Beach Pelicans game!
