Pack your sunscreen and shorts – it’s almost summertime in Myrtle Beach! The heat is on and the area is packed with fun, family friendly events that you won’t want to miss out on. From tempting food and wine festivals to fun boardwalk events, you are sure to find plenty to do during your beach getaway. Here’s our roundup of the top summer events – make sure you check out a few during your stay:

 

Hot Summer Nights – All Summer

The Hot Summer Nights promotion is a summer long festival that features several events each night throughout the week – meaning that you have plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the town! These events take place at the recently renovated Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and include free seaside concerts, a kids’ carnival, fireworks over the ocean, street entertainment, and much more! Just check the boardwalk website or ask your reservations specialist for more information.

 

Blue Crab Festival – May 17th – 18th

Gather your group and head to Little River for the 33rd Annual Blue Crab Festival – a “must” for visitors and locals alike. This flavorful family friendly event features several regional vendors from the area, an interactive kids play area, live music and entertainment, and – of course – plenty of crab. This event takes place Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 6pm each day. Tickets may be purchased in advance or the day of.

 

Coastal Uncorked – June 2nd – 8th

Lovers of food and wine flock by the hundreds to take part in this cluster of culinary events – and you won’t want to miss out! This festival is comprised of several individual events, including a golf tournament, tasting events, specialty dinners, cooking demonstrations, and the famous “Myrtle Beach Tasting Trolley”.  Interested guests can check their Facebook page for specific event information.

 

Beach, Boogie, & BBQ Festival – Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend in Myrtle Beach wouldn’t be complete without BBQ and what better way to get your fix than at a BBQ festival? This annual event is celebrating its 8th year and promises to be bigger and better than ever! Competitors from across the nation will be in town showcasing their tastiest offerings and competing for the top prize of $20,000 cash. The festival will also have plenty of activities for the children, live entertainment, and much more.
