Games

Myrtle Beach even has its very own beach game called Myrtle Ball that involves rolling or tossing different sized balls in hopes of getting the ball into different sized cups that are buried into the sand. Spikeball is another new favorite that is gaining popularity at beaches in the area. And, there are always classic favorites, like Frisbee or a quick game of toss football. No matter the game of choice, be sure to pack your favorite for a little fun and friendly competition.

Surfing

The gently waves that caress the shores are the perfect size for gentle surfing. Although the waves tend to be better equipped for the younger riders, surfers of all ages enjoy getting out and riding the surf. Fishing

Grab a rod and head to the beach for a fun day of fishing. You can try your hand at surf fishing or, for a small fee, head to one of the area piers and fish from there. The piers in the area have fully stocked bait and tackle shops where you can get everything from bait to rods and reels. For the more ambitious fishermen and women, try a fishing charter. Charters vary greatly on where they go, how long they are out, what fish you can expect to catch, and how much they cost, so be sure to do your research ahead of time and make reservations to ensure things go smoothly the day of. What could be better than catching your own dinner?

Boat / Jet Ski Rental

In the mood to spice things up a bit? Head to a local rental place and take out a boat or a jet ski for the day! You can find everything from small sports boats great for cruising the coast to party pontoon boats, perfect for large groups and floating the inlets and creeks. Jet skis are fun for the whole family, especially for riding waves out on the ocean! Those seeking something a little more relaxing should look for a kayak or paddle board rental.

Dolphin Tour

Dolphin tours are all the rage this season and it’s not hard to see why! Enjoy a relaxing guided tour out to sea with a trained professional while you take in the scenery. Get up close and personal with friendly wild dolphins. In some cases, the dolphins will actually come up to the boat! Although the tours cannot guarantee that you will see dolphins, in most cases, you get at least a glimpse of these friendly nautical creatures.
