Black Friday in Myrtle Beach

Black Friday has become an annual tradition in Myrtle Beach.  Families head our way to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday and get a jump on their Christmas shopping with some amazing deals. Die-hard shoppers love the once a year chance to take to the streets in the middle of the night, and many others just like to browse and shop at more traditional hours while soaking in the sights and sounds of the season. Myrtle Beach's wide range of shopping choices makes for the perfect Black Friday destination.

Shopping Opportunities

If you prefer all of your shopping needs under one roof, Coastal Grand Mall is only 5.8 miles south of Beach Colony Resort.  Coastal Grand is closed on Thanksgiving and opens up bright and early at 6:00 AM on Black Friday.  For the teen in your family that's hard to shop for, check out American Eagle Outfitters, GameStop, or Best Buy.  Movie ticket gift certificates are also a great idea!  You can find gifts for almost anyone at Books a Million and Bed Bath & Beyond.  Another good choice for prewrapped presents or hostess gifts are the cheeses and sausages from Hickory Farms.  Take a break from shopping with a Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll or dine at the nearby Cracker Barrel.

Tanger Outlets have two locations in the Myrtle Beach area, and they open at 6 PM on Thanksgiving Day.  The closest one to our resort is on Hwy 17, and it is 12 miles north of us.  Enjoy strolling between outlet stores and use the convenient and free Wi-Fi to stay connected with friends, family, and the best shopping deals.  Tanger has special prices on amazing fashion options like J. Crew, Fossil, Ann Taylor, and Michael Kors.  Grab a new winter jacket at The North Face, and soak in the smells at Yankee Candle.  When you need to refuel, Tanger includes a Ben & Jerry's, Famous Wok, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, and a Starbucks.

A lesser known shopping center is The Market Common.  Located 8.1 miles south of Beach Colony, Market Common opens at 8 AM on Black Friday, and you will not be disappointed in the selection of shops and amazing restaurants.  Browse the shops for a new outfit at Anthropologie, Charming Charlie, or White House | Black Market.  Grab a coffee at Barnes and Noble bookstore, or see the latest movie at Grand Cinema 14.  Need a great new accessory or upgrade for your Apple?  City Mac has friendly and helpful (and smart!) techs on hand.  There is no way to go wrong with any of the restaurants at The Market Common, but Tupelo Honey has amazing southern food, Gordon Biersch has great appetizers and an interesting beer menu, and Co Sushi has unique sushi and Vietnamese options.

Another nearby shopping center is Broadway at the Beach.  This popular area for shopping and eating is just 3.3 miles from our resort.  It is open from 10 AM until 6 PM on Thanksgiving and opens at 10 AM on Black Friday.  Scenic shops and restaurants circle a beautiful lake.  Make sure to bring an umbrella or sunscreen if needed because you may want to spend all day here!  Broadway has some unforgettable gift ideas like Build a Bear, Boardwalk Winery, Hollywood Heroes & Villains, Man Cave Store North, and Marbles: The Brain Store.  Take a break with Dragon's Lair mini golf or grab a bite to eat at American Tap House, Hard Rock Cafe, Joe's Crab Shack, or Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.

Your Stay at Beach Colony Resort

Let Beach Colony be your home base for your holiday shopping.  Imagine waking up and watching the sun rise over the ocean from your private balcony.  Enjoy a cup of coffee and grab a breakfast buffet with a great view from Ocean Cafe.  After taking advantage of the great shopping deals in town, come back to soak in one of our hot tubs or pools.  Take a relaxing walk on the beach and look for shells while enjoying our amazing November weather.  We average 68 degrees, and we think that is perfect beach weather!  If your kids are getting restless and need something to do, Beach Colony is conveniently located near Myrtle Beach attractions such as Ripley's Aquarium, Hollywood Wax Museum, and Rockin' Jump Trampoline Park.

What are you waiting for?  Booking a great deal for your stay at Beach Colony Resort is the first step in planning the best Black Friday yet!
